Kodak Portra 160, Individual Roll

Kodak Portra 160 is the slower, finer-grained member of the Portra family, made for photographers who want beautifully natural colour without pushing things too hard.

Its reputation comes from smooth skin tones, fine grain and a wonderfully controlled colour palette. Colours feel rich without becoming overly saturated, highlights stay soft and there's plenty of detail throughout the frame.

At ISO 160, this is a film that really shines when you've got good light to work with. Load it for portraits, fashion, weddings, landscapes or a sunny afternoon wandering around with your camera and it'll reward you with clean, beautifully balanced negatives.

There's a reason Portra has become such a staple of modern film photography. Portra 160 is polished without feeling clinical, with enough analogue character to remind you exactly why you're still shooting film.

This listing is for one 36-exposure roll of Kodak Portra 160 35mm film.

Best for

Portraits, fashion, weddings, travel, landscapes, daylight photography and anyone looking for natural colour, fine grain and beautifully rendered skin tones.

What to expect

Expect fine grain, natural colours, smooth skin tones and controlled contrast.

Compared with faster films such as Portra 400 and Portra 800, Portra 160 is happiest when there's plenty of available light. In return, you get particularly clean results with excellent detail and subtle tonal transitions.

It's forgiving enough to be approachable, but there's plenty here for experienced photographers who want a dependable professional colour negative film.

Developing

Process: C-41

Kodak Portra 160 uses standard C-41 colour negative processing, so it can be developed by most labs processing 35mm colour film.
