Harman Phoenix 125 ISO, 36 Exposures
Harman Phoenix 125 is a colour film with a personality of its own.
Made in the UK by the people behind Ilford, Phoenix is part of Harman's journey into colour film, bringing something a little different to the world of 35mm photography.
Following the original Phoenix 200, Phoenix 125 continues that story with a slower ISO 125 speed, making it a natural choice for shooting outdoors and in good light.
It's the kind of film that invites you to get out and experiment. Take it for a walk around the city, bring it along on a weekend away or load it into your favourite 35mm camera and see what happens.
Rather than chasing the perfectly polished look of a digital photograph, Phoenix offers a more individual approach to colour. The way it responds to light, exposure and scanning is part of the experience.
With 36 exposures on each roll, you've got plenty of room to try different subjects, explore the light and find your own way of shooting it.
A lovely choice for anyone curious about newer film stocks, or simply looking to try something beyond the familiar names in colour negative film.
Best for
Daylight photography, street photography, travel, everyday moments, creative experimentation and film photographers interested in trying something different.
What to expect
Harman Phoenix 125 is a relatively slow colour film, so it performs best when there's plenty of available light.
ISO 125 makes it particularly suitable for sunny days, outdoor portraits and well-lit street scenes. In darker conditions, you'll need a wider aperture, slower shutter speed or flash to get a suitable exposure.
Like other colour negative films, the final appearance of your photographs can be influenced by exposure, developing and scanning.
If you're trying Phoenix for the first time, it's worth giving yourself a roll to experiment with and seeing how the colours respond to different lighting conditions.
Developing
Harman Phoenix 125 uses standard C-41 colour negative processing.
Once you've finished your roll, take it to a film lab for developing and scanning or printing.
For the most consistent results, tell your lab you're shooting Harman Phoenix 125, particularly if they use automated scanning adjustments.
