Fujifilm Instax Wide 400

The Fujifilm Instax WIDE 400 takes everything that's fun about instant photography and gives you more room to work with.

Using Instax WIDE film, it produces a much larger photograph than Instax Mini, making it particularly good for group shots, portraits, travel and those moments where you actually want to see everyone in the picture.

The WIDE 400 keeps the shooting experience refreshingly straightforward. Exposure is handled automatically, there's a built-in flash when you need it, and the 95mm lens lets you concentrate on what's happening in front of the camera rather than disappearing into settings.

There's also a built-in self-timer, which is genuinely useful with a camera like this. Set it up, get everyone together and actually make it into the photograph yourself.

It's big, simple and unapologetically analogue. Take the photo, wait for the print and watch it appear in front of you. Sometimes photography really doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

Best for

Parties, group photos, portraits, holidays, road trips, events, family photography and anyone who wants the instant-film experience with a larger physical photograph.

What to expect

Expect large Instax WIDE prints, straightforward controls and the wonderfully unpredictable character of instant photography.

The automatic exposure system takes care of most of the technical work, making this an easy camera to pick up even if you've never shot instant film before.

Its larger WIDE format is the real attraction. There's noticeably more space in the frame than Instax Mini, which makes it particularly satisfying for photographs with multiple people, wider scenes and environmental portraits.
