Fujicolor Strobo P Flash
The Fujicolor Strobo P is a wonderfully compact little flash made for the Pocket Fujica era of film photography.
There’s not much to get in your way here. The exposure chart on the side lets you match your film speed and shooting distance to the aperture you need, with settings marked for ASA 25 through to 400. It’s the sort of simple, practical system that makes a lot of sense once you’ve used it a couple of times.
Its small size makes it an especially nice partner for compact film cameras, rather than putting a huge modern flash on top of a tiny vintage body.
If you’re putting together a Pocket Fujica setup, this is exactly the sort of period-correct accessory that completes it.
Best for
Pocket Fujica cameras, 110 photography, compact vintage film cameras, direct flash photography and photographers building a period-correct Fuji setup.
What to expect
This is a simple electronic flash built around manual exposure rather than modern TTL metering.
Choose your film speed, judge the distance to your subject and use the chart on the side to determine the appropriate aperture. The chart covers common film speeds from ASA 25 through to 400 and distances from around 1.5 to 5 metres.
The flash head is fixed and forward-facing, making this primarily a direct-flash unit.
