Fujifilm QuickSnap Flash 400

The Fujifilm QuickSnap keeps film photography about as simple as it gets.

It's already loaded with 27 shots of ISO 400 colour film, with a fixed-focus 32mm lens and built-in flash. There's nothing to load, no settings to figure out and no batteries to charge. Wind it on, look through the viewfinder and take the photo.

ISO 400 makes it flexible enough for everyday shooting, from sunny days and holidays to parties and nights out. When the light drops, switch on the flash and keep your subject within roughly three metres.

Once you've finished all 27 shots, bring the whole camera back for developing and scanning.

What to expect

Expect simple, candid 35mm photos with the unmistakable character of a disposable camera.

There's no autofocus or exposure control to think about. The lens is fixed at 32mm f/10, the shutter fires at 1/140 sec, and focus runs from approximately 1 metre to infinity.

For the best results, Fujifilm recommends using the flash indoors, at night, in shade, in cloudy conditions and when your subject is backlit. The flash works most effectively with subjects around 1 to 3 metres away.

Developing

Standard C-41 colour film processing.

Once you've taken all 27 photos, the entire QuickSnap is handed over to the lab. The 35mm colour negative film inside is removed and processed using standard C-41 chemistry.
