Kodak Ektacolor Pro 800

Kodak Ektacolor Pro 800 is a fast 35mm colour negative film made for low light, changing conditions and situations where you need a little more speed.

Its ISO 800 rating makes it particularly useful for indoor photography, evening light, events, street photography and moving subjects. Despite the higher speed, it maintains fine grain, good sharpness and smooth tonal reproduction.

Colour is natural and balanced rather than heavily saturated, with particularly good reproduction of skin tones. That makes it a strong choice for portraits and people, but its combination of speed and wide exposure latitude also makes it useful for travel, sport and general photography.

Each roll gives you 36 exposures and develops using standard C-41 colour processing.

• Weddings and events

• Photographers wanting extra speed without giving up natural colour

What to expect

Expect natural colour, smooth tones and fine grain for an ISO 800 film, with enough speed to keep shooting when slower colour films start to struggle.

The daylight balance makes it versatile across a wide range of situations rather than limiting it to artificial or tungsten light. Its ISO 800 speed also gives you more freedom to use faster shutter speeds when photographing people or moving subjects.

Kodak specifically highlights its wide exposure latitude, natural skin tones and balanced colour, making this a flexible high-speed option rather than a film built around a heavy or exaggerated colour look.

Ektacolor Pro 800 uses standard C-41 chemistry, so it can be developed by labs offering regular colour negative processing.
