Ilford Delta 100

Ilford Delta 100 Professional is a fine-grain black and white film made for medium format photography where detail really matters.

Rated at ISO 100, it works best when you have plenty of light or a little more control over your exposure. The slower speed keeps grain exceptionally fine, with high sharpness and plenty of detail from the larger 120 negative.

It's particularly well suited to portraits, landscapes, architecture, studio work and fine art photography, where you can take your time and make the most of its clean, detailed look.

If you're shooting medium format for the extra detail and tonal range that a larger negative gives you, Delta 100 is a natural fit.

What to expect

Expect exceptionally fine grain, high sharpness and plenty of detail, with a clean and refined black and white look.

ISO 100 means Delta 100 needs more light than films like Delta 400 or HP5 Plus, but the trade-off is finer grain and greater emphasis on detail.

Ilford recommends EI 100 for the best overall image quality, although good results can be achieved between EI 50 and EI 200.

In 120 format, the larger negative makes the most of those characteristics, particularly when you're scanning at high resolution or making larger prints.

Developing

Standard black and white processing.

Delta 100 can be developed in a wide range of standard black and white developers. Ilford provides development data for ILFOTEC DD-X, ID-11, MICROPHEN, PERCEPTOL and ILFOSOL 3, among others.
